Convert Any Video Fast with Amadis Video Converter Suite — Step-by-Step

What this guide covers

Quick, practical steps to convert a video to a different format or preset using Amadis Video Converter Suite, with tips to speed up conversion and keep quality.

1) Prepare source and target

  • Source: Place your source file(s) in an easy-to-find folder.
  • Target folder: Create a destination folder for converted files.

2) Open the app and load files

  • Launch Amadis Video Converter Suite.
  • Click Add File(s) or drag-and-drop your video(s) into the file list.

3) Choose output format or device preset

  • Click the Profile or Output Format drop-down.
  • Pick a format (MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV) or a device preset (iPhone, Android, YouTube).
  • Tip: Use MP4 (H.264) for broad compatibility; H.265/HEVC for smaller files at similar quality.

4) Adjust settings for speed vs quality

  • Open Settings or Advanced for video/audio options.
  • To convert faster:
    • Choose a lower resolution (e.g., 1080p → 720p).
    • Increase encoder speed/preset (e.g., from “medium” to “fast” or “ultrafast”).
    • Lower bitrate or enable two-pass only if quality is critical (two-pass is slower).
  • To preserve quality:
    • Keep original resolution and use a higher bitrate or constant quality setting (CRF ~18–23 for x264).
    • Enable hardware acceleration (see next step).

5) Enable hardware acceleration

  • In Preferences, enable GPU/Hardware Acceleration (Intel Quick Sync, NVIDIA NVENC, AMD VCE) if available.
  • This significantly speeds conversions with minimal quality loss on supported hardware.

6) Trim, crop or batch-process (optional)

  • Use Trim to remove unwanted sections.
  • Use Crop to remove black bars.
  • For multiple files, select all and apply the same preset to batch convert.

7) Start conversion and monitor

  • Click Convert or Start.
  • Monitor progress in the status bar; estimated time displays per file.
  • Pause or cancel if needed.

8) Verify output

  • Open the converted file in a media player and check playback, audio sync, and quality.
  • If issues occur
